"I promise that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us and as our posterity reads of our life's experiences, they, too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted."

Visiting Teaching March 2014

Hi Everyone,

For March I have designed a 5x7 card you can give to your sisters, with a personal message, featuring a light bulb made from vellum. I used colored sugar to fill the light bulb, but you could try other things like confetti and glitter.  I just wanted a little bit of a 3D effect.  Here is a tutorial.  Click HERE and HERE if you want a printable file.  Click HERE and HERE if you want a Silhouette print and cut file.

                                                                  Cut the corners off.
Cut from the outer edge to the dashed line as shown to ease the curves.
Fold tabs to the back and angle cut the bottom tab.

Put glue on tabs.  Be sure to completely get the edges so that the sugar won't escape.
                                                             Don't glue bottom tab.
After glue is dry, fill with colored sugar.  I used a small funnel.  Don't over fill.
This one has just a little too much sugar in it.
Glue bottom tab down to enclose sugar.
Glue bottom of light bulb on.  This one has a little too much sugar.
Glue quote on.  Add a personal message inside.  The sugar on this one is just right.

  1. I love the message accompanying your light bulb and I think you did a wonderful job on your card and the light bulb file. And thank you for sharing the file.
